Add topicThis wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be begin. Refer to our Languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki.

I'd like to ask about the copyright status of Rezolucio de la 65-a Internacia Junulara Kongreso de TEJO. Has the text has been released under a free license? Since it's from 2009, we can't publish it here unless the TEJO has explicitly released the text under a suitable license like the GFDL (see Wikisource:Copyright policy). - Hello Jafeluv. I am an activist of TEJO, responsible for its internet activities (see [1]), and was also the main organizer of the IJK congress in which the text was created. As such, I have the right to release the text under a suitable license, and I have attempted to do so by stating that it's available under Creative Commons on its talk page. Unfortunately, I have found no better way of doing this - but will be glad if you could help me. Furthermore, I would have placed the text in an Esperanto section of Wikisource, if that existed (so far I could only give my support vote in the appropriate poll). Regards, Blahma 11:47, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Glad to hear that! You can prove that you're the actual copyright holder by contacting our volunteer response team by email at permissions-eo@wikimedia.org and explaining that you would like to release the text for use in Wikisource. Another, perhaps simpler way of doing the same thing would be adding a notice to your web page that the text is licensed under CC-BY-SA 2.5 (or whatever license you choose).
- We're all waiting for the Esperanto Wikisource project to finally get started, but I'm not sure what the status of that proposal is. It seems there's only been silence for a long time even though the test project here is plenty active enough for a separate project... *shrug* Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions! - Bevore I saw this talk page I used the template Copyvio on the page Rezolutio... etc. We need something more, the link says nothing about a CC licence. By the way, the same problem is on the Czech Wikisource - additionally with the licence of the translation (see s:cs:Diskuse:Rezoluce 65. Mezinárodního kongresu esperantské mládeže). Regards -jkb- 17:11, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Both the document and the translation have been worked out by the concerned people while they were working for TEJO organizing its congress, therefore they can be treated as an employee's work. As a TEJO representative, I thought it sufficient to release it under CC by stating it here. Actually, I was not thinking at all about it having been published on the website before. Having said this, I have already asked the respective person to add the licence information there, and will thereafter ask the Czech translator to submit an OTRS confirmation for the same rights on his translation. I hope this will resolve the problem. Blahma 17:42, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

- Some times it can seem to be a bit bureaucratic rubbish, but that's the life in a copyrighted world :-) ... The translator's permission can be sent also directly to info-cs /zavináč/ wikimedia.org where I have access. Regards, -jkb- 17:54, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Here it is OK, I restored the page. -jkb- 18:54, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- Translator's licence on Czech Wikisource is OK per OTRS, -jkb- 11:02, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
