Nigmont, request for flag 'suppressredirect'
I am asking for granting me, if that is possible, one special flag, namely:
- Not create redirects from source pages when moving pages (suppressredirect)
During my work in the Mordvinic Wikisources (Moksha and Erzya), I from time to time do mistakes in the created items (pages), and after those mistakes I am forced to do renaming to the proper name and put the needless redirect to deletion. I think it would be better that I could do renaming without creation of needless redirects and avoid bothering admins with requests to delete those futile redirects. I am not intending to use this flag outside of those local Wikisources (except, may be, in the cases of obviously needed help to good-faith users from other Wikisources). --Nigmont (talk) 17:15, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- I guess it is a fine idea and I wouldn't have any objections, but according to this page it doesn't seems to be as easy... :-( somebody an idea? -jkb- (talk) 17:24, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- I myself also admit that it is, most likely, not possible without acquiring for me a user group having extended set of rights including this one. But at this moment I don't feel myself ready to get any of those user groups, I want only this specific flag. I it is possible then it would be fine; but if not (sigh) — allright, then let it stay as it has been before. --Nigmont (talk) 17:55, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- let's wait, might be somebody knows a trick... probably you can ask for it at meta... -jkb- (talk) 18:01, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- AFAIK, we can:
- ask for creation of new user group what has this user right (but I doubt about creating a group just for one user)
- ask for granting this user right to an existing user group (but I cannot find any suitable)
- grant Nigmont the admin bit (I would
Support but the user needs to accept it first)

Support). —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 19:05, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- I would support the admin bit too if Nigmont asks for it :-). --Zyephyrus (talk) 21:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- I support this; we had here some more votes in December, I suggest waiting some days up to weekend, and if there are no objections, I will grand the rights. Greetings, -jkb- (talk) 20:59, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @-jkb-: do you mean here: to grant me adminship right now? If yes, then I ask to wait until the next year — see my message below. Anyway, even if you give me admin's rights right now, then it would be useless because I am not intending to be active in the Wikisource in December, neither as an admin nor even as a common user. --Nigmont (talk) 16:15, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks a lot to everyone who expressed support for my adminship, I was really surprized when I saw so many opinions of support! However, it seems to me that for getting to me admin's tools, a normal request for adminship must be created first, and all supportive (and contradictory if they exist) voices should be collected there, and only after that it would be correct to grant me admin's rights (if the request has shown substantial support for that, of course). I think, it is not quite right idea to give me adminship right now, regardless all supportive voices here.
Really, I have already thought about adminship here, but each time when I thought about it, I felt myself not ready and, that even more important, that it was really not needed/required to me (for my current work here). But now, taking in account such support from experienced users, seemingly I am ready to ask for admin's tools. However, I propose to leave it for the next year, when I will find some time and write the request. Anyway, I am not intending to be very much active in this December even in usual Wikisource work (which does not require adminship), and there is nothing to say about admin's work. So, let's wait, and in January-February of the next (2022) year I expect to write the request to ask for adminship. Thanks to everyone once again! --Nigmont (talk) 16:07, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Nigmont: Special:ListGroupRights shows "suppressredirect" limited to administrators and bots- Please reply if your interest still prevails while no activity after 2025-01-02. Then I will be inclined to admit a new administrator to certain extents.-Jusjih (talk) 00:22, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- I just reminded the candidate at s:User_talk:Nigmont#Your request on Old Wikisource with the latest global log. If we hear nothing, maybe deny this request as abandoned.--Jusjih (talk) 20:30, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- I support this proposal to just archive this. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:40, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

Votes for removal of rights
This areas is for votes to remove rights, either for inactivity or for misuse of rights (or any other reason). Please vote/comment on whether you think that the users below should keep or lose their respective user rights. Unless otherwise noted, users who have multiple rights will only have the rights under the particular section removed (i.e. a user with both admin and bureaucrat rights who is nominated for removal of bureaucrat rights, will retain their admin rights). However, normally bureaucrats who lose their admin rights will also lose their bureaucrat rights. Removals of some rights require a Steward, after a discussion is closed with a result of removal, the closing editor should post a request on meta.
Vote for removal of administrator privileges
This section is for removal of admin rights ("desysopping") If you have been listed here due to inactivity, but intend to resume admin duties, please indicate this so that others can re-evaluate whether you should be desysopped. Admins who are desysopped due to inactivity are encouraged to resume administration whenever they wish, either by talking to a bureaucrat or initiating a request above. Admins who do not respond may be automatically desysopped after 30 days.
