SECTION 6. AREAS COVERED BY TREE PLANTING. The Agew na Kataquelan
Committee shall specify the area within the LGU to be planted or reforested. The tree planting activities shall be done in any of the following areas:
a. Idle or vacant public lands;
b. Public parks in urban and rural areas;
c. Mangrove areas;
d. Public school grounds, gardens or other available areas within the school premises;
and
e. Private schools, parks and lands with the consent of the owner thereof.
The City Government may also enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and/or usufruct with any private or juridical entity for the tree planting program/project, especially for the creation or establishment of an urban forest where seedlings acquired through this Ordinance shall be planted.
SECTION 7. SEEDLING BANK/NURSERY. For the purpose of this Ordinance, there - shall be established a Seedling Bank/Nursery to ensure the supply of the seedlings and other plant material needs of the City. The City Agriculture Office (CAgO) shall be the lead agency in the establishment and maintenance of the said Nursery.
Maintenance of trees planted in the identified tree planting sites within the city shall be under the care of the Barangay Council who has jurisdiction over the site, under supervision of the CAgO.
SECTION 8. COMMITMENT OF GROUPS AFTER ACCREDITATION. - To recognize the partners of the City Government of Alaminos, all Civil Society Organizations, Cooperatives, Non-Governmental Organizations, People's Organizations, Professional Groups or Business Groups which register under the City Cooperatives Office and those who seek accreditation from the Sangguniang Panlungsod are required to plant at least one (1) seedling per member or a minimum of 50 seedlings (for large organizations) upon completion of registration/accreditation as part of their commitment as development partner of the City Government of Alaminos
